ISAT Coburg

About us

As part of Coburg University of Applied Sciences and Arts, the Institute of Sensor and Actuator Technology (ISAT) has been performing research and development in the field of surface acoustic waves (SAW) since 2006. Due to the success of many projects with partners from industry and science in the area, ISAT has made a name for itself in Upper Franconia. Two spin-off companies also promote their innovations in Coburg, and this region is becoming a hotspot in sensor development.

By moving to a new research building in January 2013, ISAT was able to concentrate all of its activities at one location with excellently equipped laboratories and workspaces.

ISAT appreciates the support of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, the European Regional Development Fund of the European Union, and the Coburg Economic Development Office. Special funding was received from the Bavarian state government as part of the „Aufbruch Bayern“ program. On the basis of this positive progress the institute will likely be a competent partner and trigger innovations for your tasks.
