Acoustics in motion!
What began as a project group in 2017 evolved into a practical semester project and ultimately into a functional trade show model of an acoustic boat. The model was designed at the institute and further optimized through several rounds of iteration and testing, eventually being manufactured using additive manufacturing as a 3D-printed part. The boat’s advantages include its flow-optimized shape—featuring cylindrical floats with rounded fronts—as well as the small cross-sectional area that glides through the water. Additionally, piezo actuators can be attached to both floats to provide propulsion and directional control.
